Giving Chillicothe an Outlet
Rebecca needs an intriguing outfit. She does not desire any outfits in the one or two stores Chillicothe, Missouri, has. The closest mall is an hour and fifteen minutes away, but driving that far is not in her interests. Also, she does not have enough time. What does she do? If Chillicothe had a mall of its own, Rebecca would not have this problem. Although building a mall would take time and effort, Chillicothe, Missouri, should implement an outlet mall to benefit the economy, attract visitors, and provide a new activity for teens.
First of all, a mall would benefit the economy. If citizens from other towns were to roll through Chillicothe, they might be more likely to drop by and window shop. While these tourists are in town, they might also buy food and enjoy the small-town restaurants of Chillicothe. In addition, people would be spending money on clothing and other small boutiques that appeal to them. Of course, after all of that driving they would purchase fuel. The more the people spend money the better Chillicothe’s economical state becomes.
Secondly, an outlet store would attract visitors. The closest mall is an hour to an hour and a half away for Chillicothe. Other towns like Chula, Trenton, and Brookfield drive approximately two hours. If Chillicothe had a mall, those towns would not waste their time or gas to drive a longer distance to another city. Given that Chillicothe is closer to these towns, people would waste less time and gas to drive to the Chillicothe mall. As a result, the mall would increase its popularity through social media and possibly on the news. After reading about the newly built store, citizens might take it upon themselves to move to Chillicothe. This would increase the town’s population and school district; with that being said, the town would attract visitors and tourists.
Lastly, a shopping mart also provides a new activity for teens. In Chillicothe, teenagers struggle with creating thrilling plans. Most kids can agree that the community needs more entertainment. Bowling and watching movies has now struck children as boring. Instead, teenagers find excitement in illegal cannabis or underage drinking. In contrary, for the teens who are involved in academics, having this supermarket could give them a chance to relax and just have fun. Implementing a mall would provide these young citizens a chance to have amusement in a legal matter; it would keep most premature students out of the partying life. Instead, these juveniles can spend money on clothes and not illegal substances.
Building an outlet mall would aid our economy, bring in people from other towns, and stop kids from rebelling. Rebecca is not much of a crazy teen, but she would definitely love to have more entertainment than a bowling alley and a movie theater. Also, she would enjoy driving five miles instead of ninety miles to get an alluring outfit. Rebecca would not be the only one to appreciate the outlet mall, but other citizens from Chillicothe, Trenton, Brookfield, and Chula would too. Chillicothe needs a new outlet.
